My wife Jill & I joined our good friend Alex Alexander in his home town of Duluth, Minnesota to witness the largest owl invasion of modern times. In our short 5 day stay we saw 38 Great Grey Owls, 7 Hawk Owls and single Great Horned, Barred, Boreal, Northern Saw-whet and Snowy Owls. We also managed to brave the -40° C conditions to see Black-backed Woodpecker, Boreal Chickadee and finished off with a pair of Harlequin Ducks on Lake Superior.
