This trip with my wife Jill, Richard Patient and Alan Hitchings was to see all the grouse sp in Colorado. and we were largely successful. Greater and Lesser Prairie Chickens were easily seen whilst Greater Sage Grouse and the rare Gunnison Sage Grouse required early morning stake-outs. Wild Turkey and Sharp-tailed Grouse were also seen along with other much wanted species such as Chestnut-collared Longspur, Mountain Plover, Lewis’s Woodpecker and Townsend’s Solitaire.
